The nearby Bob Marshall Wilderness—known as The Bob—teems with over a million acres of preserved mountain and forest that offer blue-ribbon angling, hunting, hiking, cross-country skiing, camping and bird watching.
Whitefish Mountain Resort
Whitefish Mountain Resort's 3,000 powdery acres overlooks Glacier Park. Snow season activities include skiing, snowmobile tours, dog sled tours, sleigh rides and moonlight dine and ski outings. Summer activities include a zip line, gondola rides, an alpine slide, a Walk-in-the-Treetops, as well as hiking and mountain biking.
While the area has an abundance of pure, clear water, the 50-mile long Flathead Lake ranks supreme as the West’s largest natural freshwater lake. The three forks of the Flathead River have fantastic fishing and a variety of boating experiences.
For fairway enthusiasts, Golf Digest has recently cited Montana's Flathead Valley among the "50 Greatest Golf Destinations in the World."
