Recreation Director
To glide along the emerald waters of Swan Lake and Swan River by canoe, kayak, pedal-boat or inner tube is a pleasure and privilege beyond measure. To explore the invisible paths first traveled by Blackfeet and Kootenai Indians with your children or grandchildren is to etch a memory in the heart. And Kootenai's Outdoor Recreation Director is here to make adventures such as these easy and convenient.
For the exclusive use of Kootenai's homeowners, the Recreation Director can assist you in experiencing the Kootenai's many wonders—from mountain biking to boating to hiking to bird watching. Snowmobiling, equestrian outings, hunting (both bow and rifle) and traditional overnight tent camping are just a few of the many endeavors available. If it's great angling you're after, our Recreation Director knows all of the local "hot spots" and will furnish residents and guests with fly-fishing lessons, a boat, canoe or just a simple pair of waders.
If powerboating is of interest, use one of our own watercraft to water ski, wakeboard or just casually pontoon around Swan Lake. Kootenai homeowners can enjoy the fun of boating without the hassle. Let our staff worry about fueling, cleaning and maintaining the fleet.
The Recreational Director is headquartered in the Nature Center, located in the heart of the community.
To learn about the surrounding forests, hiking trails, fish, birds and animals of our unique eco-system or to schedule a guided fishing, hunting or hiking trip, just stop by.
